Fight The Power: How Hip Hop Changed The World

A documentary (aired on BBC2 and iPlayer) centred around Hip Hop and its impact. From its roots in the US, its expansion over decades and how its global presence has changed the world not only through music, but through art, culture, fashion, business and even politics.

I was brought on by BBC to create a promo cut for the documentary, using After Effects, referencing the style frames created in house. The final treatment borrowed visuals from splicing film negatives on top of lightboxes. Paired with a ‘cut-out’ staggered animation to blend stills, freeze frames, framed images and blocky transitions.
